Fiddling Femmes ~ Group Lessons for Women
"At the heart of the Berkshire Strings community and my mission of 'Instruction and Inspiration' is a group of women, the Fiddling Femmes. Together we learn traditional fiddle music, strive to become expressive on our instruments, and enjoy supporting the endeavors of all musicians."
- Erika Ludwig
The founder of the Fiddling Femmes, Erika Ludwig, is a dedicated teacher who has developed curriculum for a variety of student groups and specializes in beginners and adult learners. In small classes, she introduces the instrument, the culture and the camaraderie of making music. With good tools, encouragement and coaching, her students grow in ability and knowledge, finding their personal musical voices and learning the universal language of musicians. The Fiddling Femmes classes are a gateway to the growing community of traditional music players in the southern Berkshire county area and to musical experiences everywhere. Monthly gatherings of the Berkshire Strings Jam Sessions and attendance at musical festivals and workshops contribute to a rich experience of learning music.
The Fiddling Femmes welcome new players to join their existing groups. Other traditional and string instruments such as viola, cello, mandolin, guitar and banjo are also considered.
