Fiddling Femmes ~ Group Lessons for Women
"At the heart of the Berkshire Strings community and my mission of 'Instruction and Inspiration' is a group of women, the Fiddling Femmes. Together we learn traditional fiddle music, strive to become expressive on our instruments, and enjoy supporting the endeavors of all musicians."
- Erika Ludwig
The founder of the Fiddling Femmes, Erika Ludwig, is a teacher dedicated to developing curriculum for the variety of student groups, specializing in beginners and adult learners, who attend lessons and classes at her Berkshire Strings Studio.
In small classes, she introduces the instrument, the culture and the camaraderie of making music. The Fiddling Femmes are a growing community of traditional music players who support each other with encouragement and resources, who attend the monthly Berkshire Strings Jam Sessions and various concerts and musical festivals and workshops.
The Fiddling Femmes welcome new players to join their existing groups. Other traditional and string instruments such as viola, cello, mandolin, guitar and banjo are also considered.
